A catchment is an area of land where surface water converges to a single point, such as an estuary, sea or ocean.
The Tyne Catchment is unique. It is not only a very special place for visitors and residents with its physical beauty, but it is the only UK region that has all 11 types of river channel identified by the Environment Agency.

We also work in partnership with other organisations who have an interest in improving the river through the Tyne Catchment project.
