Tyne Ecosystem Database

Attention, open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

Good quality data and information are key to effective targeting of resources for habitat, species and access development work in an area the size of the Tyne Catchment.

The aim of this project is to capture and make available as much existing Tyne Catchment information digitally as possible as part of the Trust’s commitment to ‘Getting better information and promoting better understanding’.

The Tyne Ecosystem Database contains novel and existing GIS layers and provides the basis for an ‘ecosystem approach’ driven analysis of the issues and opportunities for improving the environment of the Tyne Catchment. Further GIS layers are being created as part of this and other TRT work.

It is hoped that in the future we will be able to make some of this information available through a public access GIS system based on this website.
