TRT at the Goose Fayre

Tyne Rivers Trust had its best ever stall at the Goose Fayre in Ovingham on Saturday 19th June. From beginning to end we received a constant stream of interested and interesting people with their families. Thank you to everyone who came to talk with us, we value your opinions and local knowledge, and we are always glad of the opportunity to tell people what we've been up to. TRT would especially like to thank Janet and Marjorie our brilliant and enthusiastic volunteers for helping out on the stall.

Having been threatened with 'it always rains for the Goose Fayre', TRT were relieved that so many visitors came along and enjoyed the afternoon sun, but the Whittle Burn and Tyne along with all our rivers remain very low due to such a dry spring. We are also concerned about the condition of the lower estuary; our staff and volunteers will continue to monitor the situation and send our information to the Environment Agency.
