Tyne Rivers Trust is currently recruiting for the Forest Streams Project Officer post. £13,250 pa (plus pension contribution) 2-year initial contract, working across the Tyne catchment.  Office base in Horsley.  Own transport essential.  The Trust has been contracted by the Environment Agency to improve the ecological quality of streams draining Kielder Forest, mainly to the North Tyne.  Reporting to the Director, the new Forest Streams Officer will help the Director and the Rivers Officer in planning, procuring and managing habitat improvements to specific forested catchments.  They will be responsible for simple field data collection, carrying out surveys and for processing field information held on databases.  It is a broadly-based post, mainly involved with practical work outdoors; but also promoting TRT's aims and achievements and assisting the existing team to deliver TRT projects.  The successful applicant will have good passes at GCSE (preferably including science and IT), and preferably a further education qualification eg Higher National Diploma.  Graduates will also be considered.  Volunteering or vocational training experience would be desirable.  A self-starter, we seek someone with a combination of environmental, practical and people skills.  Applications in the form of a CV and covering letter should be sent to the Director, Tyne Rivers Trust, Tyne House, Mill Way, Horsley, Northumberland NE15 0PA.
